ROLL OUT NOTICE 2022
Scurry County Appraisal District will have field appraisers driving the county for the 2022 appraisal year.
Property appraisers’ vehicles have signs reading, “Scurry County Appraisal District” in addition to personal identification.
Every effort will be made to complete any on-site measuring as quickly as possible.
2022 DUE DATES
Notices of appraised value for 2022 will be sent to property owners whose value increased $1000 or more, new property owners, and owners who had an exemption removed. Notices will be sent by May 1 or AS SOON THEREAFTER AS PRACTICABLE in connection with any other property. |
Business Personal Property Renditions statements and property reports must be delivered to the chief appraiser no later than April 15. Property owners who need more time to file their business personal property renditions may file a written request with the Chief Appraiser prior to and no later than April 15th to receive 30-day extension to May 15th. |
Applications For 1-D-1 (Open-Space) Agricultural Use Are Due Before May 3, 2022. Late 1-D-1 (Open-Space) Agricultural Use applications will be accepted up until appraisal record certification in July, and will incur a late penalty. If the application has not been received before the appraisal records are certified, then the property is not eligible for the agricultural use valuation (“ag exemption”) for tax year 2022. |

Interpreters
Non-english speaking persons are encouraged to provide a personal interpreter. If a person cannot provide an interpreter, the District will attempt to arrange for interpreting assistance provided a written request is submitted to the Chief Appraiser at least three (3) business days in advance of the meeting.
Access by Disabled Persons
District Facilities allow access by disabled individuals. Handicapped parking space is available at the front parking lot of the District office. Individuals who need additional assistance for entry or access should notify the District at least three (3) business days in advance of the meeting.
